As a firm believer in individual and community healing and transformation, Dev has shared their story in multiple documentaries and media outlets including Huffington Post, The Guardian, VICE, and a promo for the film Boy Erased. In 2019, Dev presented the TEDx Talk, What Elvis Taught a Conversion Therapy Survivor about Love.
Dev is an advocate for creating a world where every young person is safe and loved. Their work to support young people includes working with the national initiative Resilience in School Environments (RISE) to help school districts and educators build a culture that is trauma-informed, restorative, and rooted in social emotional health. Prior to RISE, Dev served as a Restorative Justice and Social Emotional Health Facilitator, Counselor and Coach in Oakland Unified School District. Dev is also an associate board member for Covenant House, California, a faith-based organization that supports young people struggling with houselessness and sex trafficking.
In addition to their work with young people, Dev provides trainings and workshops that focus on healing spiritual and religious trauma using restorative practices as a primary healing modality.
In October 2021, Dev accepted a position as a Hospice and Palliative Care Chaplain for Anchor Health for adults and pediatrics.
